Remote Imaging Observatory

FWAS members submit imaging requests online and receive processed astrophotography from our research-grade telescope at the Rising Star Observing Area — no travel required.

Bortle Class 2 Dark Sky Site

RSOA in Eastland County, Texas is one of the darkest accessible sites in North Texas — approximately 90 miles west of Fort Worth, rated Bortle Class 2.
